LIVING WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS
Directed by - Dorset Mental Health Forum
“Living with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI) is just that —living. It's part of a person’s story, but it doesn't define them. This powerful video challenges outdated perceptions, urging us to see the person, not their diagnosis. We all have a right to a life worth living. By acknowledging the deep connection between physical and mental health, we can build a more compassionate, inclusive society where no one is left behind. Let’s shift the conversation. Let’s break the stigma.”
Linked is one of a series of videos (all can be found on the DMHF youtube channel) Discussing Serious Mental illness and the importance of having a right to a life worth living and health checks for those living with SMI’s, shot across 2 days with multiple participants and multiple camera’s, this was a team effort due to the time constraints and schedules for the participants involving myself a producer, editor, sound designer, gaffer & production designer.
